   (25-May-08 19:58)  Switching Sql Server from Windows authentication
If you have mssql 2005 installed using windows authentication mode, and you want to switch it to mixed mode, you will need to do a few things:

1) Open Management Studio, right click on the database in the object explorer (the root node of the tree) and click properties. Click Security in the top left, and select 'Sql Server and Windows Authentication Mode' under Server authentication

2) Open up a command prompt and reset the sa password using the following command:

osql -E -Q "sp_password NULL,MyGreatPassword,sa" 

(obviously, change MyGreatPassword to your sa password)

3) Enable the sa account - run the following sql in Management Studio:


And you're done!
